At the heart of the Lions Club is a passion for serving others. From providing vision screenings for children to offering scholarships and assisting with local events, we are dedicated to making a difference.

We award $1,000 annual scholarships (renewable for four years) to graduating seniors from Basalt High School. These scholarships help students pursue higher education and achieve their dreams. Awards will be announced sometime between May 1–31, 2025, with exact notification times shared directly with recipients via email.

Through our KidSight Vision Screening Program, we visit local preschools and elementary schools to detect vision issues early. Our screenings identify conditions such as lazy eye, cross-eye, and refractive issues. Children in need receive referrals to 20/20 Eye Care, and for families without medical coverage, the Lions Club covers the cost of treatment.

The Shining Stars program is a heartwarming initiative that brings joy to children battling cancer and other serious illnesses. Held at The Inn at Aspen, it offers a range of uplifting activities like adaptive ski lessons, arts and crafts, talent shows, and pool parties. Creating unforgettable memories and moments of healing for these brave kids.
